A member of the LDS church is currently (as of 5/2/18) suing their Bishop, Stake President, and two attorneys from the Kirton McConkie law firm for defamation.
Matthew Richards is one of the men being sued. He is an attorney for Kirton McConkie and he represents the Mormon Church in various matters.
This document is a deposition Richards gave on March 15, 2018 and is connected to the pending lawsuit. In it, he discusses many things including the process that takes place when a local Bishop calls the Mormon Church's hotline. This hotline is to be called by local clergy whenever they encounter security concerns (as in this case), sex abuse, and a variety of other situations where legal guidance is needed.
