The following is his statement:

Those who are familiar with me will readily recognize some major inconsistencies with what is claimed to be my teachings and beliefs in this leaked document. This document now appears as factual evidence in the official LDS records and archives which led to my excommunication. However, the letter contains incomplete, inaccurate, and embellished information regarding my teachings and beliefs. This document provides a flawed representation of the facts, some of which are invented, never having been professed by me yet attributed to me. Therefore, Reader beware that you do not arrive at faulty conclusions by relying upon any of the assertions made by the Stake President who composed this letter or the assessment of me by the Correlation Committee member included in this document.

My simple testimony remains that God lives and that He hears and speaks to all who will approach Him in humble faith. Allow Jesus Christ to become the author and finisher of your faith. Only He can declare your eternal standing with God; and, isn’t that all that really matters…where you stand with God? Men, with their ever-changing institutional ordinances, practices, policies, and teachings, based upon opinions of their own then current authorities or politics, do not determine truth. Do not allow your test of truth to rest with the opinions of individuals or councils who are viewed as learned and credentialed, or who use their celebrity or positions and associations as qualifications to pronounce judgment as to whether teachings or beliefs are “on base” or “off base” (LDS 2 Ne. 28:4-5). Be believing but prove all things using God as your guide and measure.
