Category:Tithing & Fast Offerings
Members of the Mormon Church are expected to donate money to the Church regularly. Specifically tithing and fast offerings. Fast offerings are monthly donations that are separate from [ tithing] and typically coincide with the monthly ritual of abstaining from food and water for 24 hours (fasting). It is generally understood that the money donated should, at a minimum, represent the amount of money saved by skipping meals for those 24 hours and the funds are generally used to fund the welfare needs of local members.
